Alternative Healing and Fitness-the complete mind body connect

My name is Gita, and I am based out of Chennai, India. I was born in Kolar Gold Fields, in Karnataka, the youngest of four children. I grew up between Kolar Gold Fields and Bangalore, and moved to Chennai after marriage. I did a Bachelor’s Degree in three majors of Physics, Chemistry and Maths, and followed it up with a Masters’ Degree in Economics. But, as fortune would have it, I landed up in a career that had nothing to do with my degrees: Alternative Healing and Fitness.

My brush with fitness began when I was a teenager. A chance encounter at a Yoga class had me hooked to it. A time came when I began to stand on my head with ease, and put a string through my nose, to bring it out of my mouth with great ease. Armed with a curious mind and a tendency to find out more about the world around her, I took up a certification course in Yoga .

After marriage, when I came to Chennai, I got caught up in bringing up my daughter and son. Despite the demands of motherhood, I kept my creativity alive through my work with art. From Tanjore paintings to oil, from acrylic to fabric, I wove tapestries of colour in my paintings and dabbled in stained glass art as well, besides tie-and-dye, ceramic painting, pottery and doll making.

While I remained in touch with fitness, the itch to explore the world even deeper with all the new things that technology and science had to offer became greater with time. In 2001, I completed the Reebok Aerobics Instructor course, which made me a Global Aerobics Instructor after I passed the exams with flying colours.

Armed with my certifications, I began group classes for different age groups in Aerobics and fitness. With time, I took on certifications in Pre and Post Natal Fitness for expectant and new mothers, Nutrition in Dietetics and varying forms of fitness – such as Kickboxing, Hi/Lo, Step Aerobics, Kettlebell Aerobics and many more

I noticed that my students were all devoted to my classes and followed all that I told them to. Some had results immediately, while some were stuck in limbo without favourable results. That set me thinking: what could be the reason why some responded to fitness when some didn’t? Some soul searching and a lot of research led me to the world of mind-body connections: that it is sometimes the manifestation of something in the mind that the body faces as an illness.

I then got into alternative healing, which took me on a journey into Reiki, Magnified Healing, Bach Flower Therapy, Crystal Healing, Acupressure and Acupuncture. Delving deeper into the mind body connect, I found answers to many of her questions, while some still seemed elusive.
Strengthened and renewed research guided me after every client in her studio. There were many inexplicable health issues that I wanted to find answers for. I chanced upon the Emotional Freedom Techniquue, which got me into understanding the significance of energy psychology, and effecting paradigm shifts in the thinking of an individual, to effect significant shifts in their body and health.

More soul searching got me into the fields of META Health and Advanced Clearing Energetics or ACE. My cumulative experiences gave me the capacity to breathe life into the desire within to find solutions to better lives through showing people the capacity they have within themselves, to heal themselves and to rise above their issues.

My personal transformation happened when I realised that I could find my own answers to my issues and that I was in control of my life and healing. I have the ability to clearly see the issues beneath my clients’ symptoms and can then guide them in uncomplicated ways to move forward.

META-Health Trainer, Master Trainer EFT, META HEALTH YOGA,Theta Healing, NLP, Picture Tapping, Matrix Re-imprinting, Matrix Birth Reimprinting, Root Healing, PEAT,ACE MASTER, Access Bars, Reiki (Grandmaster), Magnified Healing, Bach Flower Therapy, Nutrition, Yoga (teacher), Aromatherapy, Acupressure, Acupuncture, Crystal therapy, Colour therapy, Tarot Card Reading, Cartouche reading, TAROT CARDS, RUNES, Dowsing and Hypnosis.

I have learned that the immense feelings we experience and the way we perceive our environment via our psyche, can have a profound impact on our health and disease issues.

It has been a rewarding journey, since. People with “incurable” diseases, congenital defects, cancer, fractures and several chronic illnesses have walked into my sessions feeling encumbered by their illnesses, only to leave the session feeling incredibly light, wholesome and completely free of their illnesses.

In my work so far, I have been driven by a simple motivation: that an individual is the fuel for his existence. I am encouraged by the understanding that one can only adopt and live by the solutions that one crafts for themselves with full faith and strength of conviction. The capacity to form such solutions lies within all of us. The mundane demands of life tend to erode that capacity on occasion, but with a strong sense of self-belief and self-reliance through energy healing, one can find a way to beat that hollow.

Interestingly, the challenge I often find myself facing comes from people’s rigid views and fears around their health and well being. Most people resist learning or taking on alternative healing because of fear, uncertainty or even a lack of knowledge.
To them, I always say this. Imagine you have a cut in your skin on your hand. It bleeds for a while. A few days later, it heals and you can see a crust. A few days after that, the crust falls away and you can see a scar, where the wound has healed.

The truth is, your entire body is capable of doing just this, no matter what it is that you face. But, sometimes, we don’t allow our body’s natural healing capacity because we suppress the natural capacity with our half-baked knowledge, belief systems and triggers. Alternative healing just helps you return to your natural capacity.
